My family and I started working our way towards natural living back in the beginning of 2014. While we are not all the way there we are taking new steps all the time to better our life. Right now my main focus is learning about essential oils and aromatherapy but that is just one part of living a more natural life. In this blog post I will tell you a few ways we are getting back to nature with our lifestyles.
First, of course, is by incorporating essential oils in our lives. We use essential oils for many different aspects including health, beauty, cleaning, kids, and our pets. As I post on this blog I will share recipes and the uses of the different oils. If any of you have any specific questions please feel free to email me anytime. Next is my garden. I have always had a love for flowers which has expanded into growing fruits, herbs, and vegetables. I think one of the best ways to get back to nature is by actually helping nature grow. A great advantage to growing your own garden is knowing the food you're putting on the table is non GMO and chemical free! And saving money is a MAJOR plus! The third thing we do is make our own products including bath, beauty, and cleaning products. There are so many DIY recipes out there to make naturally that are much safer for your family then buying in stores. Now these are just a few of the main ways we are working as a family to become a more natural living family. Believe me we are not perfect and this lifestyle takes time. Don't think you need to throw everything away all at once. Start with a few new things each week and learn everything you can so you can be knowledgeable about living a more natural and healthy life. Learn to love this amazing journey like we have! Please email me if you have any questions, comments, or ideas of what you'd like to see a blog post on! I'd love to hear from my fans. And comment the new things you are trying out to make a more natural and chemical free life here! -Jessica C Acne as a kid is bad enough, then to keep the acne going into your adult years is pure torture. Trying different face wash's and scrubs could be harming your skin more then helping it. It's time to try a safer and healthier way.
There are a few different essential oils that can help you fight that pesky acne. Lavender- This essential oil is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and some-what astringent. To use Lavender put a few drops on a cotton swab and dot onto blemishes. Oregano- Aromatic and flavorful oregano is a staple ingredient in the kitchen. But if you crave clear skin, you may also want to add it to your medicine cabinet, too. Oregano in its essential oil form is excellent for getting rid of pimples. The natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties of oregano oil make it handy for spot treating zits. Just be sure to dilute the oil before applying it to your skin. Mix together equal parts oregano oil and a carrier oil, like jojoba, olive or coconut oil. Then, dab the diluted mixture onto the trouble spot regularly until your skin clears up. Tea tree- If you’ve ever experienced the powerful and antiseptic scent of tea tree oil, then you probably won’t find it hard to believe that tea tree oil contains some serious antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. I regularly use tea tree oil to thwart any acne flare-ups before they get nasty. Usually I take a cotton swab, dip it into a jar of tea tree essential oil and dab it on my breakout. Don’t do this if you have extremely sensitive skin. Also keep in mind that tea tree oil can dry out your skin—fast. If you haven’t used it before, I’d recommend diluting the tea tree oil with another oil, like jojoba, before applying. Bergamot- The citrusy scent of bergamot essential oil will perk up your skin in no time. Its revitalizing fragrance and antibacterial properties make it an excellent option to spot treat breakouts. It also blends well with other oils, which is handy for creating your own acne treatment blend. Start by mixing bergamot oil with coconut, olive or jojoba oil. Then, mix in other acne-fighting essential oils that you’ve found work well to create a powerful personalized acne treatment. Rosemary- Typically, we think of using rosemary to add flavor to potatoes or chicken, not for skin care. But this often overlooked herb does wonders for revitalizing skin. It’s well known for its abilities to reduce excess oil on skin. Rosemary also contains anti-inflammatory properties known to ease redness and puffiness, which is perfect for treating breakouts. Get glowy skin by regularly using a cleanser, scrub or moisturizer that contains naturally astringent rosemary essential oil. Besides helping to clear skin, rosemary also improves circulation, which can help firm and tone. It’s a versatile oil that makes a great addition to your beauty routine.
